I was debating early this morning whether to post about GOD or President Obama...After all, the most important thing about today is that it is GOOD FRIDAY...!!!
My decision was made quickly...GOD is way more RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, TRUTHFUL, FAITHFUL, EDIFYING, & SAVING than our President has been for over three years now...
In spite of G.O.D., the GREAT OBAMA DEPRESSION, I wish to dwell on THE ONE TRUE GOD...!!!
IT IS GOOD FRIDAY...!!!
When we urge our compatriots to ‘KEEP YOUR EYES FIXED ON CHRIST’, on this day there is no better image to conjure up than THE CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS...
Even though we as Christians celebrate each day in light of THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD...let us never forget that HIS DEATH saved the world and any who would accept this gift...IT IS GOOD FRIDAY...!!!
There would be NO RESURRECTION, NO EASTER without GOOD FRIDAY...!!!
As a child, I remember wondering why they referred to this day as GOOD Friday...Now, I treasure that day and set it aside as something uniquely HOLY...!!!
Today, as in prior years, while meditating on The Love JESUS expressed for all mankind, I will be confecting my version of EASTER BREAD...I will bake about 4 or 5 loaves of this EASTER SEASON traditional family delicacy...A mixture of essentially flour, yeast, milk, locatelli cheese, and saffron...it will yield a beautifully fragrant and bright yellow product...HOME PERVADING AROMATIC & FRAGRANT WITH A SHARP CHEESE BITE...!!!
Reminding us to TASTE AND SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD...!!!
When I reflected on these ingredients on the day before Jews around the world will celebrate PASSOVER, I noticed one major difference...I will use leaven, yeast, while my Jewish brethren will use the traditional unleavened bread...expressing the haste of THE EXODUS, when Jews fled Egypt to escape the tyranny of The Pharoah...
YEAST, in Scripture, is a type of SIN...SIN IS PERVASIVE...since a small amount of yeast is needed to effect the entire loaf of bread...!!!
Christians...in light of THE EASTER MYSTERIES...The suffering, death, and RESURRECTION of The Lord, can now rest securely in the knowledge and Faith that our Lord won for us by His Life, Death & Resurrection...!!!
During these next few days, let us THANK HIM AND SEEK HIS GUIDANCE for us and for our Country as we find ourselves in a modern day EXODUS from SLAVERY TO FREEDOM...!!!
SUNDAY...WE WILL ALL UTTER THOSE FABULOUS WORDS...ALLELUIA...HE IS RISEN...!!!
