Fort Collins CO is a fabulous place to share your life with a pet. In addition to an unmatched array of outside activities for you and your animal, the community's veterinary health care resources will ensure that your pet enjoys a healthy and long life.
Foremost among these resources is the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). CSU's College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences currently ranks #3 nationally among veterinary schools and leads the nation in veterinary research funding. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital offers comprehensive veterinary care to companion animals, livestock, and equine patients, including a huge variety of specialty services such as emergency and urgent care, cardiology, oncology, dentistry and oral surgery, internal medicine, neurology, orthopedics, and diagnostic and support services. They even have an exotic animal medicine practice.
A referral is not needed and the appointment process is similar to any veterinary practice. Because the VTH is a teaching hospital, however, the experience is somewhat different - care is provided by a team of experienced veterinarians who lead students through the examination, diagnosis and treatment. The VTH also serves the entire veterinary community as a referral hospital, partnering with primary care veterinarians around the region.
I've had several occasions to take sick pets to the VTH, and I found the care to be excellent - both highly competent and very caring. Fort Collins CO is very fortunate to have such a wonderful resource available to the community.
