Because of all the media hype buyers think that they can make ridiculously low offers and get the house for a literal steal. Well from where I set nobody is ready to give their house away! Sure some good deals are being made at the new lower market prices but not as low as buyers think that they can get them.
After showing a number of houses and a buyer wants to make an offer on one, then makes a real low offer, whoa! If I can't get the buyers to come to a realistic offer I really don't want to spend more time with them.
If they are not realistic I stop dealing with them. Some buyers are as stubborn as a Mule. Why spend time showing buyers that are not going to make decent offers. When will they learn? I think perhaps when the prices start going up again and they miss all the good deals at today's low prices.
