St Petersburg Florida's Hands On Museum at 1925 4th Street North is indeed a museum for kids.
I took my granddaughter to the Hands On Museum - also called Great Explorations Children's Museum - yesterday and we both had a fantastic time!
This is the perfect place for a five year old to explore! From the harp that has no strings but makes music if you run your hands through the area where the strings should be, to the grocery store provided by Publix, this is a fantastic place for kids to explore.
Aubrey really enjoyed putting on a Publix apron and working the bakery, then scanning and checking out food for other kids.
Naturally, the Sandpearl ship and tree house were popular as was the firetruck and firemen's jackets that she got to wear!
This museum was set up so that a child can spend hours there and not get bored or want to leave!
They have one section set up like a Channel 9 weather reporting station and the little ones see themselves on the screen just as if they were indeed in a television station!
Naturally, there is a doctor's office and also a station for the vet to check out your toy pet!
If you are looking for a fun day out with your child, I recommend you check out the St Petersburg Florida Children's Hands On Museum called Great Explorations!
