What Style is that Home?
John Occhi, Hemet REALTOR®

I was reading REALTOR Magazine online and found an interesting article about replacement windows, which I enjoyed since I was very successful at selling these a few years before I got my real estate license.

Well as the internet often does, one page led to another and then another.  Before I knew it, I was on a NAR sponsored page that talks about architecture styles of homes.

I spent some time here and was fascinated with the different styles.  What really fascinated me though is the lack of a coined phrase for the style of home that has sprung up in Southern California - and beyond, I'm sure, in the last few years.

Of the 33 styles described and illustrated, there is nothing that truly describes what we now offer the public.  Yes, of course we have older homes that can very easily be pigeon holed into a number of these various styles - but nothing strikes me as reflective of what we have to offer.

I would be very interested in hearing back from some local Hemet or Riverside County agents as to their take on what is here and what style do you refer to our new homes being offered for sale/

I've seen this NAR page before.  Unfortunately, it omits the SPLIT FOYER home which has been the choice of builders in Maryland and Virginia for 35 years.  After the Colonial, which is the #1 built, the Split Foyer is the choice of builders because of the economy of construction.
