Daily Devotional: Worry Is Selfishness in Disguise

Prayer Starter: Father God, thank You for showing me that worry is a sin. Help me to get rid of my selfish, ungodly desires so that I can simply pursue Your destiny for me.

Romans 14:23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin. (NIV)

The author states that "worry is based on one particular sin: selfishness." I had thought of that before, but it makes sense. I worry about how things are going to turn out for me and my family. I want good things to happen and so worry about what might go wrong. It is so difficult for me to let go of everything and put God in charge.

So, should I worry about not worrying? Seriously, it is a vicious cycle when trying to stop. I am better I think, but still need to work on it.
