I am a huge Seth Godin fan and I love marketing more than the average real estate agent. I have read all Seth's books and have been following him for a long time but especially after reading some of his columns in Fast Company. A couple of weeks ago I was in our Columbus Ohio Barnes and Nobles store at Easton and ran across "The Dip" on audio CD for only $5...and I knew I had to have it.

I can not give a high enough recommendation for this CD and for only five bucks it will be the best money you spend in 2007.

Sam - I read the book and enjoyed it very much, so I imagine the CD is equally good. Go for it!

Sharon, I love the concept that winners know when to quit certain things. Most of us were taught that winners never quit and the reality is that real winners quit often on things that don't work and they refocus their energy into other areas that will generate more results. Good stuff for sure and I still can't believe I bought the cd for only five dollars.

Ditto's on Seth and the Dip! This book has really changed my attitude during this slow market. It has challenged me to re-evaluate, sharpen my pencil and realize that I really want to stay in the biz for the long haul!

Sam - obviously the difference is in why you quit - because something isn't working fast enough, or because you've evaluated the situation and decided that there are better opportunities.

Sharon - You hit the nail right on the head. Testing and tracking are key...then retesting and more tracking. I have had many systems that required more than 6 months to see a return and once they really kicked in they paid off huge. Knowing when to quit certain tasks and retargeting is priceless. I enjoyed our brief time together at CRS.
