By
Real Estate Agent with Kim Wilbourn Realty

 Hello All!

Does anyone do Bulk Mailing?

My company has set up a bulk mailing account with the post office. This should save me a huge discount on mailings!

I will  have to mail a minimum of 200 mail pieces out, and I will use the ink stamp at my office(as opposed to using postage stamps)

This could be a good option during the cold months to "actively" do prospecting since it's cold outside.

Let me know if anyone does this and how good it works? I have never done Bulk Mailing before.

Don't do bulk. Do direct, but always 1st class. Can track it better that way. Get bounce backs that clean up the database too. Bulk does not allow that.

Kim,

I only do direct mail to my sphere of influence, I did bul mail for two years every month to a subdivision of 1000. I never didn't get a single client. Maybe it will work in your market.

Bulk was always a big pain although I did it for a while.  Since its a cheaper rate you need to sort and count everything by zip code.  There's also paperwork that must be filled out each time and correctly.  The mail people expect that you do it all hence the reason for being so much cheaper.  Also some post offices have special hours for bulk mailing and thats not always convenient.

Thanks for the comments. I didn't think it would be a good idea for me.

Bulk mail is great! It saves me a lot of money for my farm. I send out 325 pieces every month for $65.00. I keep my name and face in their hands, and get at least 1 appointment a month plus other phone calls.
