Perspective is a funny thing and we all need it!

Every once in a while you get a client that makes what we do worth doing.  I had that client this year. I know that because I busted my tail and made a difficult closing happen and a family had a better life.

I had the honor of working with a young women in her mid-twenties who had two beautiful little boys, whom she home schools, and a wonderful husband. If I stopped there you would think she had the perfect life.  Well, she does, except for the fact she has stage four breast cancer.

Her husband wanted her to have this home for their family. They are amazing people. They live life as if they do have the perfect life without cancer.  Work a deal with a family like this and you'll never need to read a single, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" book.

Anyway, when it started to look like the house would close because the bank couldn't get their act together, I got everyone involved.  With permission, I shared the family's story and I had the other agent, the closer, my manager, everyone I could think of calling the bank telling them that they had to do whatever it took to get that house closed. In the eleventh hour, the bank finally made it happen.  We sat for two hours at the closing table waiting for documents but finally they came.

Everyone cheered as they signed the papers. And when they left a few of cried. I don't think I have ever done a more important closing, nor one I'm more proud to have done.

I saw her the other day, its been nearly a year. She was at the grocery store with her boys. I almost didn't recongize her. She having more chemotherapy and she's lost her hair. But, she still had her brilliant smile.

If you have room in your prayers tonight you might add one for her and her family.

I had a client with cancer this past year too. I was very much drawn into the situation. Last time I saw them everything was going in a positive direction - but I think of them often. I wish your client well - I know it's heart breaking for you.

They will get my prayers. We stayed in the Woodlands after Katrina for over a week. Everyone was nice and caring. That seems like ages ago so many things have happened since then. Have a nice holiday?

Mary,

It is really great that you went the extra mile to make this happen.  When you do the right thing... amazing things can happen.  We are praying that she is in this house for a long time!!!
