As I was strolling back to the MoonDancer Realty office after watching the Easter Hat Parade in Dillsboro, NC yesterday, I spied a beautiful yellow bloom tucked on the side of a 100 year old building now housing Jill’s Hair Cuts.
Most people will tell you that the only thing I know about most flowers is that I like to photograph them. As I wedged myself between the flower and the building, two ladies crossed the street and asked me, “Isn’t that a peony bush”? Obviously they don’t read my blog!
They didn’t need me to identify the flower, they were already familiar with it…they just hadn’t seen one in a while. The one lady is a craftsperson and actually makes flowers out of yarn. She had one on her hat and it really was pretty.
The closer I got to the bloom, the more interesting it became to me. Flowers on the macro level always give me more of a complete picture…whether I know the name of it or not.
It is always a treasure hunt when strolling Front Street in Dillsboro, NC. Not only are the shops attractive but all these blooms keep the town looking inviting and cheery.
