DJ Hammond Wants To Send You A Client

Real Estate Agent with Green Realty Group (808) 388-1485 RS - 53215

Mike and Gayle Hawaii Real Estate Online (808) 630-1828So I check my email one more time before I go to bed and there is an email from DJ Hammond in Montana.  It is way past business hours in Montana so I leave him a voice mail and an email letting him know that we would be more than happy to assist his customer in his Honolulu Relocation.

I call good old DJ and he starts right in with the "Territory" stuff.  I ask him specifically about his customer Wade he ask me about and he says "Another Lady Took Him".  Wade is selling Zip Codes to Realtors for his client lead generation system.  I am always bothered by sales people that used this bait and switch tactic.  I wish they would just send out truthful emails/information and let those that need their help respond.  They are such a waste of time on money.

I have copied his email below for you.  If people have to lie about their intentions from the start, how good could their product possibly be?

Hello Michael,

I need some help for a customer of mine, they are looking to purchase in Waikki. I’m in Montana, so obviously I can’t be of much help there. If you are taking on new customers I’d like to introduce you to Wade, and hopefully you can help them find a good buy. Please give me a call at 406-532-5573, and we can discuss this further. Thanks for your help!

Multiple of us just received the same email from DJ.  Shouldn't he spell out that he is with Real Estate PipeLine instead of REPL in his signature? At least there is the option to unscribe.

I get these consistently too... what is disturbing is the complete flip flop in the email... Do you have somebody to refer or don't you?  And you say it's a customer but then say you are a marketing company and you don't work directly with buyers and sellers...

Way too much parsing of words to believe that it isn't a waste of time and money.: Bold and Underline are mine.

Hello Kevin I am looking for some help in your area. A customer of mine, Sofia, is looking for some property. If you have time to help them, I would greatly appreciate it. Please give me a call and I can fill you in on all the details. I can be reached at 406-532-5585. Hope you have a great day!

Best Regards,

Got the email this morning and the phone call a few hours later.  I don't mind people asking me for business, I just need them to be a little more honest.

I also got an email from Brian Besel and then I called him a few days later and we talked at length.  I won't be so quick to paint them with a black brush, as the way he explained it seemed legitimate enough.  There was no bait and switch and no hard sales pitch, but I am doing more research so I thank you for posting this.

I received a letter today from Brian Besel. I googled his name to research him, and found this post. Thank you for calling attention to this letter that continues to be sent to realtors. It is helpful to read everyones responses.

Did i see that most of you posted just because you received an email?Or a phone call too? Where is the post about market leader or Trullia, Or zillow calling you. After all only two people have actually talked to someone. So you are complaining that someone is doing their job. Maybe you should try it.
You realtors are so quick to point how right mike is when he does not even know who is calling him or who the lead is. Why does it say dj hammond then he says wade. Who is will? HERES THE FACTS. WE TALK TO EACH AND EVERY PROSPECT THAT COMES TO OUR CONSUMER WEBSITES. ITS EXCLUSIVE TO ONE AGENT. SO WADE WAS THE BUYER MIKE WAS AFRAID TO WORK WITH AND ANOTHER AGENT DID. SO MIKE CAN NOT. EASY ENOUGH FOR YOU REALTORS TO UNDERSTAND.

Just got a call from this same number as well, a message from Bryan. Could tell he had a headset on with the noise in the background, and laughter when he began to speak. "Looking for someone who knows my area best" That single, one & only line doesn't work on me.

Wanted $98 up front for a "lead" in my territory. I never pay for anything up front. If it's legitimate they can get paid at closing.

Aug 13, 2015 06:43 AM #28

I did try it - unfortunately read posts like this to late. HANG UP the phone when they call you. I was told they had a “hot” lead in my area. Upon discussing their service further they stated they had no time limit to get you future leads but I was assured they received lots of leads with their multiple sites. They also stated they scrubbed the leads via phone calls – not so sure about that based on my experience with the one lead I worked. If there is an issue with a lead, no worries, it was EASY to get “credit” - simply go to your portal and dispute it – if they agree after speaking with the lead again they will credit your account.
I did dispute the very first “hot” lead they sent over - they agreed and said they would credit my account. A few weeks later I cancelled my account and asked for my refund - they agreed to refund me the money that was remaining on my account MINUS the $97 credit for the bad lead they did give me up front – IN ESSENCE charging me for NOTHING. They told me I could leave my account open until another lead randomly came along – no thanks, I might get two in one day, costing me an additional $97 – right.
During the sales pitch I asked lots of questions and felt like I received satisfactory responses but when the service was charged to my card I notice an ADDITIONAL NON-REFUNDABLE $200 set up fee that was NOT MENTIONED at any point during the initial sales call. I called and was told it was for the set up fee for my "e-card" that leads were sent and would see in the area I worked. Basically they took a cookie cutter template, slapped my photo and contact info on and said that was their set up - did I mention the first two times they set it up they used the contact info and photo of another broker from my office.
Best $300 lesson I've learned in a long time. I work hard for my business and I know other brokers do as well - if Real Estate Pipeline calls you - just hang up the phone.

Great blog. I just received a voice message from a Daryl Young number 406-532-5573. I did call back and left a voicemail. I was curious after I heard the message and did a Google search on the phone number. Next thing I know there is this blog that references the phone number. Thank goodness for Activerain and it's members. Now for my next move. CALL BLOCK. :-)

Thanks for your comments. I just received a call from this guy and Googled his number right away while on the phone with him. I told him I actually don't do real estate anymore and I decided to invest in selling oranges in the corners of busy intersections so I asked him if his lead generating system would work for my new business......he got upset and hung up 😂😂 lol

Jul 22, 2016 07:59 AM #31

Funny the same Daryl Young just called me from that very same number. I knew it was a scam right away. I just told him I don't do referrals from out of state and to remove me from his call list. Then I hung up.

Real estate lead company promising high quality leads if you pay right now. In my experience those leads wouldn't even answer the phone or call me back much less meet for a showing or definitely not purchase. Wasted my money on this!
