Monica,
Not an RE agent, but I would try to focus on the German (Germany and Austria) market. They tend to be big in the horse racing circuit. I would also recommend doing a search on the internet for international real estate sales, just in case you do not get the feedback you are looking for. Also, look at how some of the high-end luxury homes are advertised. I hope that you get what you are looking for.
Jason,
Thank for those pointers, I did a search yesterday for International e-mail lists and I found some that may be good ones but I am a little skeptical. I will definitely be searching your suggestions today :)
Monica, can you tell us a bit about the place? That might stimulate some ideas. I'm familiar with equine communities, of course, but not of any with their own racetrack!
One thing you might consider doing is targeting trainers. Their clientele might be YOUR clientele, after all, and you might even sell some properties to trainers themselves.
Equine-oriented email lists are a good place to start, but you really need to participate in the discussions on them in order to not be considered a spammer and get booted. If you're thinking about sending out email pieces to an international list, I'll tell you right now that I get a lot of that kind of thing even from those who don't know I'm an agent, trying to sell me this, that, and the other horse-related item, and the unsolicited ones tend to be deleted right off the bat - it has to be something really special and obviously so immediately for me to not just delete them.
Tricia,
Here is a link to the Info Webpage on this Property, it is called Thunder Ranch Estates The page shows all the Additions, it is 133 Acres, in Marion County, FL. Located in Anthony (Home of John Travolta) and it will be a full featured Equestrian Community, which is already under developement. It is beautiful, there is a 3/4 acre race track with 2 80 stall barns that have barely been used. If I had the money, I woud buy it myself...lol. Let me know if this is enough info to suggest how to market it, we are currently marketing it online but I can always put it somewhere else as well :) More exposure, better chance of sale. :)
Monica,
Here is another thing that popped in my head: everytime I go to the local feed store or go get hay up in Ocala, I always flip through the free magazines that they have. There are trailers and trucks for sale, barn plans, and farm equipment. But there are also a lot of new communities advertising listings in there as well. You may want to pick a couple up to see if it is worth putting an ad in. Those are the people that would be interested in a property like that, especially in Ocala with all the training and breeding that goes on there.
Jason, Thanks for coming back and posting this, I know exactly what you mean and I am going to pick up some of thise tomorrow :) Great Idea!!
Monica
