Gene -- it is very sad to see how some people behave after the loss of a loved one. It seems there are many who change their character and change nearly overnight. At the same time, harboring such animosity toward others is very self destructive. Glad you were able to finalize that early loan and it didn't put you off of continuing in this important field.
Steven: This closing was interesting, to say the least. And also a little scarey! I have the feeling these brothers had been feuding even before their mother's passing. It seemed pretty deep rooted. We see it all, don't we??
Gene
WOW! As you stated we see it all.....we need to write a book about or mortgage lending stories. As you I hope the brothers reconciled, because life is just too short for drama!
Gene, I hate to deal with families like this, but we've all probably seen some degrees of this. Never a pleasant experience.
Gene....Great story. Family feuds can be deep and longstanding. They certainly are not unusual and they generallly have some basis in finances. It's no fun to be in the middle of one of these.
Markita: Okay ... we get you, me ... and a few other lenders on here for one long weekend. Compile the stories and we have a bestseller, no doubt!! I'm in!
Gabe: Pleasant? No .. but interesting and educational both. I learned young that getting a loan closed can mean real work and walking a tightrope! Valuable lesson ...
Howard: Never did learn the actual event that initiated this feud. Almost didn't want to! But it was pretty deep-seeded, that was obvious. It ended-up being a rather unsettling transaction to have worked on ... but as I said to Gabe ... very educational.

Hi Gene - That's ultimately a very sad story. Mary & I have handled a few divorce transactions over the years that played out similarly - they were completely exhausting emotionally, and totally beyond our attempts to keep things on an even keel. I would never want to do another one like those.
Dick: Seems like everyone has faced something of this ilk. They are wearing, there's no doubt about it .. for professional and clients alike. Appreciate your commenting ...

Gene, very sad story. My sister and I have some property together and it can be tough sometime. However we are certainly better than the brothers you have described.
These brothers were certainly out of the norm and over the top with their emotions and actions. Something of this magnitude is rarely seen, thankfully. Those having to deal with it survived ... and hopefully learned something from the experience too ...
Thanks for writing. It's great to hear from you ...
