Santorum Suspends bid for White House. (Non-Politcial)

Leaving politics aside completely...Santorum basically quit his bid for the white house.

Reason...A sick child. I have to say, it takes class to do this.  Yes, I believe that it was the right thing to do.  His very young daughter has fallen ill and looks to be an on going issue.

I know personally some people who have ignored family and went on with a career even when the family needed them more.

Granted, not everyone is able to do this because of financial responsibilities, but that is besides the point.  He did put FAMILY first!  Many power hungry people have put themselves first!

My Prayers go out to this family!

Karl Rove indicated on The Five today that he is in deep financial dept and Newt has more staying power from his own funds.

Super PACs have given money to Romney and they both need to remain players to have their debts paid by the RNC.....

William, I think it is admirable that Mr Santorum is such a great family man.  I also think it is at least mildly admirable that Mr Romney pulled the plug on his really nasty ad-running while Santorum was tending to his family.

But to think that the fact that everything pointed to Santorum getting totally trounced in the upcoming Pennsylvania primary had nothing to do with his exiting the race... is just pure fantasy.

Well unlike Cain who suspended his campaign with arrogance Santorum is running out of money and there is obviously his daughter to think about. For anyone running a campaign it is tough business. I just don't like for so many of them it all comes down to who has the most money to survive. I agree with Wallace's comment much of this is about Super Pac money.

Hmmmmm. I can see I need to watch the news again. I had not heard that Santorum dropped the race.

This was a bit of a surprise.  And, I am just going with your sentiments, Bill.  I hope his daughter (who had been ill before) regains her health.

While I agree that the polls were against him, I know others who would have pursued on letting family be a back seat to power.

Reguardless of the possible Political part of the reasoning, He still put family first and NOT everyone would have done the same.

I think that Bill makes a good point as to the character of the man...at least in this instant.

I was going for the person and trying to leave the politics out of it.  WE need more people who have their priorities in order.  Not many of the top people do.

Even if the reason was a dual one..it still shows inner class that we are lacking in America.

Bill...

I haven't kept up with this story but it's nice to know that there are still those that will put family first.
