Yes, Margie. Football has always been King in the South, and it is a religion for many of us Southerners.
Love love this post, Margie! Hmm, I was unaware that my husband actually has a southern religious affiliation...you can probably guess which one... :-) We also have enough RV traffic on the roads during the summer to know that you NEVER trust that a vehicle with its turn signal on is actually going to turn in the forseable future!
And only southerners begin a conversation with a newcomer by saying " Your not from around here, are ya? and "what church do ya belong to? Freaked my freak when I first moved here.
Raymond- Indeed. For some it certainly is! I'm a football kinda gal though!
Jerry- Looking back on my life, the day my Dad sat me down and explained the game of football to me was one of the biggest game changers ever for me. I became completely obsessed from that day forward and have been ever since. That's a memory I will cherish forever!
Karen- I made the mistake of thinking a turn signal meant just what it's supposed to ONE time. Ended up in a wreck. Never had made that mistake again : )
Leslie- Funny enough a similar conversation goes for southern universities as it does for church. I attended UGA and not once did I meet someone new with out them asking what sorority I belonged to.
Margie this gave me a little education on what it is to be a Southerner :)
This blast from the past is hilarious especially having lived in Georgia for nearly 20 years.
Isn't one of the religeons also "NASCAR:
