Please, Not Today!

Real Estate Agent with Crown Key Realty

I woke this morning with a startling suddenness. My heart was pounding in my chest like the kettle drums in Also Spake Zarathustra. My bed was soaked with perspiration and my hair matted down and damp (OK, I don't have hair I am just taking literary license). I struggled to the bathroom and the mirror reflected a face fill with fear and a ghastly shade of pale. I forced two aspirin down without water as I have heard that in an emergency this can help.

Now I was in a waiting room and I struggled to fill out the forms that had been handed to me. Then they began asking questions and entering data about me into their computer. Final I was ushered into a quite room and told to wait.

Then, suddenly, the door opened and a bright light filled my eyes. Bill stuck out his had and said good news Dale, you owe less than $200.00.

My tax day nightmare was ended and I had survived. Bill had done a great job preparing me for this day but I hated it none the less. I don't mind paying taxes as long as the money is well spent (big funny laugh here). Now, in my mind I was beginning the count down to 2013. Here we go again.

My name is Dale E. Bledsoe with Crown Key realty and as usual I may be reach at 209-481-6031. You may also visit me on the web at www.dalebledsoe.com .

Right up until that point it sounded like you were getting work done on your car.

ROFL, thought you could use a little pre-tax day humor, enjoy the rest of your day

Love this post - everyone needs some humor on tax day. Whether I have to pay, or I get a bit of money back, I LOVE the fact that I have an accountant who helps me keep it all straight!

I know many people who utilize their knowledge of our constitution and have a strong constitution for battle and they do not pay taxes; since at the core of our constitution and laws; none of us are obligated to do so.

Now you may say "no way", but I say I know a man who has not paid taxes in 27 years and he walks freely among us. Makes ya think.

That's some impressive tax planning.  I sweated it out until last Friday and just sent in my mid four-figure tax payment.  Boo.  I'm just glad that's over, I hope.

Nice twist to a horrible experience.  Paying homage to the state is always a gut wrenching experience. Glad you are able to be part of the 51% that actually pays more in federal income taxes than received back in a refund.

Don't forget you Quarterly is due today as well.  Now tha's rubbing salt into the wounds.

Dale, you were gifted with this response for sure.  I had the nightmare of having to write a check with a week's notice for $21,000 and it nearly caused me to have a heart attack!  That was in January, and it caught me off guard, my heart jumped into my throat, I am sure it skipped a beat.  I had to marshall the accountant and my bookkeeper to a summit meeting to council them that this would never happen again or I'd have to make a change.  It was due to a surprisingly good fourth quarter, so I was able to make the payment alright.  Glad to hear you got off easy.

I found it a  lot more painless aince I pay quarterly and always pay a little more than I should. Last year I even got a few bucks back. I took it right away and went shopping. I would hate  to write a big check on the 15th of April, and I can see where a lot of people end up not  being able to pay it. I got mine covered
