The Rain Sucks When It Comes with Lightning

I haven't been blogging much over the last 2 weeks.  I have 103 referrals from the Rain and it's a part of my business plan to be Active in the Rain.  But no...I haven't blogged much for two weeks.  What's scary is that it takes 3 weeks to form a habit...yikes!!!

Two weeks ago we had major storms that went through our neck of the woods and lightning blew out our modem and wireless.  I now have spent almost 2 weeks with Comcast and the wireless company getting it back up, but it takes a minute to load a page or invariably it times out.

So...I'm on a coffee shop trying to prevent a habit from forming...while blogging about the woes of Larry Bettag.  Next electrical storm, I'm unplugging everything so that I don't come unplugged with Active Rain.

Definitely true about staying away from "the rain" can in itself be a causation of remaining active.  I've definitely noticed that, since the end of the month is typically the busiest part of the month for myself and many others, that it can be hard to come back to ActiveRain after an extedned break.

That's dedication, Larry.  I was just telling a client that I don't know what I would do if I lost the Internet.  So much of what we do is directly related to the web.  Oy vey!

Welcome back Larry.  Glad some rain and lightening aren't keeping you away any longer.  It's never fun dealing with Comcast for any reason.  103 referrals is awesome!!

We actually had a tornado touch down and do significant damage yesterday.  Granted it was in the next county (San Joaquin) south of us.  But it was a really unusual event for Northern Californians.  I don't mind lightening, as long as I'm indoors, and it doesn't knock out power.

Oh no, what a pain! At least you haven't been absent because you just haven't felt like blogging or put it off. That's what would really lead to bad habits in not blogging. Good luck getting everything back in working order and staying in working order.

Larry - Five years ago I lost four TVs, modem, phones, fax capability on printer and numerous other electronics due to a lightning strike that hit the pavement on my street right in front of my house. I actually saw it happen -- pretty scary.  After that, I have surge protection everywhere and I still unplug if the weather gets really wild. Live and learn.

Larry- glad to have you back.  130 Referrals!!! I'm surprised you're here at all.  And, I know what you mean about blogging being a habit.  I decided in Jan 2011 to write a post a day for at least 1 year.  I've gone past that and am afraid to stop.  I don't want to lose the momentum.

I hate it when the car or my computer acts up.  But look at you... a Feature upon your return.  Congrats!!!

Larry:

I am impressed that you have 103 leads from ActiveRain.  Very good.  I suffer with you about your frustration with the company that is working to restore your service. Why does it take so long to restore service?  Just a rhetorical questions.
