I wrote my first blog post in Active Rain on April 16, 2011. It was about my new listing - a short sale. Five years after I sold a young couple a home, they were struggling to make things work. It wasn't a happy day, in fact, it was a sad and rather emotional day.
Fast forward a year, and they are finally signing documents to close this afternoon, April 17th, a full year later. You'd get bored with all the details, but tenacity and a great negotiator got the job done with the VA and Wells Fargo. It's a good result for all parties and I'm happy to report my team never gave up.
It seems ironic, yet fitting, that this sale has come full circle with my year in Active Rain. What a ride it's been too, in Active Rain and Real Estate. Happily, I'm now a better blogger, and a stronger Realtor, because this community has taught me many valuable skills and lessons.
Camaraderie is defined as close feelings of friendship and trust among individuals or a group. I would say that my team of Short Sale partners at The Carl Group, and my friends in Active Rain, fall into this definition. Camaraderie is what we all hope to achieve with our friends and perhaps our co-workers.
Therefore, it seems fitting that today, I begin a busy schedule by pausing to reflect on the past year. I would be remiss without saying thank you to Active Rain and especially those of you who I now call friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you - it's going to be a good day and I'm glad you're part of it.
