South Bay Conference for Women….and Cruise at Redondo Beach!

Enjoy an incredible day of motivational speakers, amazing auction items, boutique shopping, gourmet lunch, fine wines, delectable desserts and more! Michele Ruiz, former news anchor of KNBC-TV Channel 4 News and entrepreneur, joins the conference this year as speaker and emcee. Redondo Beach Patch is celebrating their 2nd Anniversary on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Riviera Village Farmers’ Market. The Redondo Beach Patch website has become an integral part of this beach city, supporting local businesses, schools and fundraising events while keeping the community up to date with the latest area news. The event will feature an ‘opportunity wheel’ for guest to spin for prizes donated by Riviera Village merchants. Patch will be handing out promotional products, including tote bags, which will come in handy while shopping at the market. The certified Farmers’ Market is open for business every Friday afternoon from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., rain or shine, and is located at Avenue I between the Esplanade and Catalina Avenue in South Redondo Beach.

 

Cruise at the Beach is back! Every Friday night through October, vintage hot rodsautomobiles are on display in the Ruby’s Diner parking lot from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 245 North Harbor Drive in Redondo Beach. Take a stroll through the parking lot and marvel at this fine collection of classic California cars. South Bay Galleria, in partnership with Designing Women South Bay, a women’s guild in support of Working Wardrobes, is proud to announce the Reinvent, Recycle & Reuse Clothing Drive to collect professional clothing for those less fortunate women who are trying to re-enter the workforce. The clothing drive will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the South Bay Galleria’s own retail space located on Level 3 of the mall near the AMC Theater. Guests are invited to drop off on hangers, clean, gently used, women’s professional clothing, such as skirts, slacks, suits, and tops, as well as purses, shoes and accessories. These items will be donated to Working Wardrobes’ Women’s Career Success Program to aid job-seeking women in the community.

 

Did you know Italian Americans are the fourth largest European ethnic group in the United States? In the spirit of mutual admiration, Bridges to Italy, a South Bay-based international non-profit business association, and the Academy of Foreign Languages are hosting an Italian Mixer on Wednesday, April 18th at Luna Rossa Restaurant in Rolling Hills Estates at 7:00 p.m. This networking event and happy hour aims to promote the creation of a South Bay association of Italians, Italian professionals, Italophiles and anyone interested in networking with Italian businesses and individuals in the South Bay. Tickets are $10 per person and include one glass of wine and a mouthwatering assortment of appetizers. Luna Rossa restaurant is located at the Promenade on the Peninsula at 550 Deep Valley Drive in Rolling Hills Estates. Don’t forget, Triton Mixed Martial Arts Center offers a Free Women’s Self Defense Class every Monday morning at their training facility in Gold’s Gym on Harbor Drive. This very valuable service is available free for women of every age and you don’t have to be a member of Gold’s or Triton to participate. Just check in at the front desk.

Thanks, Karen.  Unfortunately I couldn't make the conference either.  We are blessed to have SO many opportunities in Southern California.
