First let me say... I'm not a techie!!! Barbara-Jo contacted me recently to ask if I'd like her to mentor me in Active Rain. Since I've read Barbara-Jo's blog posts for quite some time, and noticed she always has interesting posts... pictures, information, colors, etc.... I recognized this was my chance to learn! I have avoided photographs in my own posts. When I have used them, they are often awkwardly placed amid my verbage. Although I have attended classes on inserting photos (remember, I'm not a techie), I usually remembered the information for about a day. Well, after playing phone tag for a while, we managed to connect. Barbara-Jo patiently waited for me to locate an old blog with photos on my all too slow computer. Once located, she walked me step by step to correcting placement so the pictures would no longer interrupt my post. When she described it, it seemed so easy. Immediately, she diagnosed my problem. Now I not only have better placement, but she also gave me great resources to connect with for tutorials, and promised to be there for me when I have questions. I, in turn, promised to utilize my new found skills in my posts. Look for more pictures, more interesting fonts, and COLOR. I feel like a little kid with a new toy and a new friend.
Not only did Barbara-Jo help me, but we also realized how much we have in common... We have both been teachers, lived overseas, had one grandchild, etc., etc., etc. I'm very grateful to Barbara-Jo. I enjoyed the lesson and the conversation! Thanks, Barbara-Jo and Active Rain for providing this opportunity!
