EDINBURG, SCOTLAND ROCK-N-ROLL MARATHON!
Today I completed my first international race and it was quite an experience. Running through the historic streets of Edinburg was truly memorable. At nearly every turn you could hear the bagpipes playing. A very cool experience.
And by cool I mean that literally. For this Texas girl, the 31 degree weather at the start of the race quite nippy as they say here. There was a bit wind yet the most challenging part of this race were the many, many, many hills throughout the course. Did I mention that there were many hills?
I just tried to enjoy the sights throughout the race and not worry at all about my time. Today was about the experience. Although my hamstrings are screaming at me now, it was a great experience.
I have so enjoyed my time visiting this beautiful country. Only two days left to take in some more sights and history lessons here in Edinburg. Hopefully I will be able to walk around alright. I still have a lot to see.
I will post more over the next few days. Thank you for taking this trip with me via Active Rain!
