Home Stager with Rooms With Style

It's time to announce the next selection for the Reading In the Rain Book club. If you haven't joined us yet we would love to have you. Join our group and the discussions held on the 15th of each month.

For May...I, yours truly will be your host. I cannot wait to read this book. 88% of the readers on 'Goodreads.com' have given it 4 stars or better on a scale of 5 stars.

Now men....you have been reluctant to join and participate in our group to date but this book would be a great time to join in. We would love the male's perspective on this one.

'The Good Father' by Diane Chamberlain.

The Good Father

I have not read anything by Diane before so that will be fun as well. Here is a teaser of the book:

"A beloved daughter. A devastating choice. And now there's no going back.Four years ago, nineteen-year-old Travis Brown made a choice: to raise his newborn daughter on his own. While most of his friends were out partying and meeting girls, Travis was at home, changing diapers and worrying about keeping food on the table. But he's never regretted his decision. Bella is the light of his life. The reason behind every move he makes. And so far, she is fed. Cared for. Safe. But when Travis loses his construction job and his home, the security he's worked so hard to create for Bella begins to crumble….Then a miracle. A job in Raleigh has the power to turn their fortunes around. It has to. But when Travis arrives in Raleigh, there is no job, only an offer to participate in a onetime criminal act that promises quick money and no repercussions. With nowhere else to turn, Travis must make another choice for his daughter's sake.Even if it means he might lose her."

Doesn't that make you want to scream "NOOOOOO" right now??

So come on, it is Spring so grab your favorite beverage and sit down for some R&R with a book. Then join us on May 15th! Now....to decide what I will be serving on the 15th??Hmmm...   Oh...and don't forget to join the group "Reading In the Rain"!

I rarely read fiction ... although most would say it is all fiction because no one really knows total reality.

Most of my bookshelf is populated with nonfiction with the exception being Michael Crichton's works and a little bit of Grisham, Mario Puzo....

Is there a section of your reading club that we few men could possibly fit into?

cheers

Hi Shar,

This sounds like a wonderful read. I am going to get a copy asap. I notice there is another book by that title by Noah Hawley - I almost bought it to download when I noticed the author's name. Oops.

Take care and happy reading. D

Shar this sounds like a good read.......I truly wish I had more time to just chill and read but it's just very busy right now and we're grateful for that.   I will make a point of picking up a copy of this book....and attempt to squeeze it in! Thanks!!!
