Sugar Bowl- LSU 41-Notre Dame 14

Did not get to blog tonite since I was watching the LSU game. It was nice to beat the medias favorite team in Notre Dame. They had all the all Americans but we were the better team tonite. As long as LSU does not turn the ball over they could beat almost any one. It was the 7th win in a row in 2006 to end the year. It was Notre Dames 9th bowl loss in a row. There is a reason for that. Does anyone know why this is?

Because they keep scoring less than the other teams?  LOL!

It's because ND traditionally gets ranked higher than what they deserve.  They shouldn't have even been in this or any other BCS game this year based on their on-the-field production.  The BCS is all about the $$$ and that's it.

I really wish my Cardinals would have played in the Sugar.

You are right on. Its also because they do not get to play a lot of games during the regular season that have lots of skilled players. Those players do not play for Army, Navy, Air Force, North Carolina, and some of the big ten teams they play. You saw this in the close game they had with Ga. Tech in their opening game. The easy wins we get over the southern teams is not lack of skill players, its the lack of size from the teams you schedule for your home schedule. I think they will change and get better players but may not play better teams.

Notre Dame has been overhyped since the early 90's.  LSU has a solid program and should be able to compete in the SEC for years to come. I would have loved to see my USC Trojans playing Ohio State in the championship game. Damned Bruins! With the way SC played the other night, I'm not sure if anyone could have played with them.

ND is full of hype every year but thats it. They get good ratings since the alumni and boosters put so much money into the program. The Weiss era is looking pretty grim.

LOL Brett....kinda like a John Madden analysis: In order for <insert team>, they must score more than <insert team>

LSU is a great team and I have always been a Notre Dame fan but they did not deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl.

It's all about the money and ND gets a lot of TV hype like Eddy said.

Thanks Jay

It's great to see both LSU and the Saints doing well this year. I'd love to see the Saints continue their success by knocking off the Bears. If he can stay healthy, JaMarcus Russell could have a really good NFL career.

John - I don't follow the NFL that much, but I do love the story of the Saints this year.  I would love nothing more than to see them win it all this year.  How great would that be for the city of New Orleans?

LSU is going to be very good next year as well they have a core of young players.

Russell is like a vince young and if put into the right system he can flourish, he would be a good fit in detroit.

If the saints simply made it to Miami it would be amazing for the state of Louisiana. Their weakness is their defense though.
