We all know how difficult it can be to fine reputable workmen for all varieties of upkeep, repair and maintenance. My latest challenge was the swimming pool of two of my Franklin Lakes clients --- both luxury homes, The first client was already using a pool company when she asked me to list her home. She seemed satisfied with them, so when another client asked me for a pool company to do an inspection on a home he was purchasing, I gave him their number. BIG MISTAKE! As it turned out, he hadn't noticed my first client's pool was leaking water --- even though he was there twice a week maintaining the pool ---until the water level was so low Stevie Wonder would have noticed! I finally convinced my client to let me find a reputable company to determine what the trouble was --- enter Marson Pools. They determined the lights in the pool (always a problem at some point) were where the leaks were coming from. Apparently, the first pool company used bathroom caulking around the lights that did nothing but make the leaking worse, so the pool had to be emptied so the lights could be repaired.
Marson Pools did a wonderful job, and was far less expensive than the ongoing repairs my client had been paying for years. Marson installs, repairs and maintains pools, but they don't do "formal" inspections." They did, however, ride in on their white charger and rescued my second client when the pool company they hired to inspect the pool at the home they're purchasing completely bolluxed the job. The pressure was on since we were scheduled to close in 2 weeks, but the crew scrambled to make sure everything would be working, and the pool sparkling by closing time.
