Looking for the laid back really beachy feeling? You can get that at Kure Beach. Low key life style, gorgeous white wide sandy beaches, and lots of cottages add to the kind of coastal charm you will find at Kure Beach. Mostly everywhere in town you can walk to beach sun, hit the surf or sand.
There is a large fishing pier in the mini “downtown” area that you can talk the fishing talk with the towns best. All around the pier are restaurants and other eateries and a boardwalk. If your kids are bored take them to the Fort Fisher Aquarium for some touch tank experience with crabs and sea creatures. There are all kinds of programs at the Aquarium for kids of all ages. The Fort Fisher visitors center gives the passerbys a glimpse into the “Civil War” Fort Fisher. It was on the hills out back that the last battle of the Civil War took place. Great spot for exploring and viewing where the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic meet at the tip of the island. Lots of housing opportunities too. Ask ME!!!
