Lake Martin Shallow Water Hazards

Lake Martin's drought of 2007 created some low water levels and has exposed many spots that are shallow water hazards.

lake martin Boat shallow waterAs of this writing, the Lake Martin water level is at 474.7 feet - about 5 feet below the normal winter water level, and 15 feet below normal summer level.  If you have been around Lake Martin lately, by car or boat, you have noticed some islands that are poking out of the water now that you haven't seen before.

These shallow water spots can be downright deadly when the water is this low.  When (!!) Lake Martin gets back to normal, they will be merely hazardous to your boat motor, or maybe good fishing spots.  I thought I would make this post to create a spot for everyone to document these potentially dangerous spots.

If you have the lat/long coordinates of any "new" islands, post them in the Comments section below.  Then I will cut and paste them into the body of this post so that it will be easy to copy them if you need them.  If you use a GPS to navigate around Lake Martin, you can load these numbers and avoid the shallow spots.  I will group them by area and give credit to the contributors.  Let's all pitch in and have a source of info to help everyone on Lake Martin.
