Last week I wrote an article about the importance of learning from other peoples mistakes. While I stand by this belief, there were a handful of you here that pointed out the value and importance of learning from our own mistakes and failures. This too is a true principle that we must grab hold of and get good at!
Now even if you're not a Baseball fan, the name Babe Ruth is probably still a familiar one. I recently read an article I found online that posed the question "Are You Willing To Strike Out?", and talked about Babe Ruth's stats in 1923. In that year, Babe Ruth broke the record for the most home runs in a season as well as highest batting average. The third record he broke that same year was a lesser known record...the most strike outs!
While we should always take advantage of opportunities to learn from others mistakes and failures, it is a fact that we will have our own, so why not just embrace that fact and stop worrying so much about failing? Follow the example of 'The Great Bambino', Babe Ruth, and don't be afraid to swing, swing and keep swinging until you hit that home run! And as the great Tony Robbins once said "There is no such thing as failure. There are only results."
