Westchester Real Estate Blog is Up and Live

Real Estate Broker/Owner with J. Philip Faranda (J. Philip R.E. LLC) Westchester County NY License # 49FA1074963

For the past few months I have been working hard on revamping the company's web presence. Our company page, jphilip.com, was an old template site and the 2005 design was no longer up to par. We went with Kunversion, and are beyond excited about the results. More on that another time.

Since 2008, I have always imported my Active Rain content to an AR outside blog at WestchesterRealEstateBlog.NET. Earlier this year, I decided to import all of my content to a Wordpress platform instead of the AR outside blog so I could intergrate a home search and more features for consumers. After literally months of studying some outstanding professionals, I decided to hire Virtual Results to do the job. I have to say that I am incredibly pleased with the result. The site has all of my blog content, a robust home search, Altos research for select markets, and a design I feel very good about. Here's a screen shot:

Westchester Real Estate Blog

The only bummer is the site will not automatically pull my blog posts and comments from Active Rain anymore, so Active Rain will no longer be the primary place for my words. I will still post here, but the bulk of my original content will be exclusively on my own self hosted site at WestchesterRealEstateBlog.NET. My latest post,

Êtes-vous prêts? Partez!

is live. Please stop by from time to time if you don't see me here for a day or two, and also please be clear that this is not farewell- not by a long shot. Active Rain has been incredbly good to me, and I will always support their work and be grateful for all the community has done for my business.  This is the pre eminent social network for real estate professionals, and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't benefit from being there.

WOW!   So you jumped ship, eh?    No really, but you will obviously not be blogging quite so much on the old AR site.   Your site looks phenomenal, by the way - it also makes sense that you were a coxwain.    Probably pretty tough one, too!  My brother rowed for Dartmouth many years ago, but he was 6'2", so he had to row.  I have you in Google Alertts, but it's hard to comment on your other spot.  Hope this one is easier....

JP,  This is a great looking site!  Something that has been looming on my horizon for a while.  I have a template site and am growing to hate the things, that really is to bad that the AR blog cant be streamlined into your site. Having the original content on  your site first is not such a bad thing either, although as we know AR has some serious clout with google.  I may making note of Virtual Results with your endorsement.

I'm really surprised that more agents haven't figured out that it's better to feed unique content to your own site, instead of a community full of your local competitors. Unique content is the food that search engines crave. AR certainly has it's place, but why should they benefit from your creative writing? Create your own "google juice".

Nice looking site, btw. VirtualResults.net are very good at what they do.

Excellent, J. P.  I'm finally getting my new WordPress site up and running as well.  I wanted one that was basically local content only.  So, I'll be doing the same.  All local content will on the WP site and some of it will also be shared on the AR site.  I'll drop by and take a peek.

Well, I am sure that there are some posts that you will write specifically for the AR audience. I like virtual results; my husband's team site is handled through them and it does quite well on website grader.

Hello Phiip,

I know this is an older post but I am strongly considering Virtual Results and was wondering how you like it? I have a word press site now but its proving much more time consuming than I bargained for. I was also considering a Real Geeks site.

Are you getting leads from the VR site? I would appreciate any feedback you could give me.
