All are welcome to the Oscar Scherer State Park which has been designated a Great Florida Birding Trail and a Florida Circumnavigation Saltwater Paddling Trail, enjoy live music, contests, games, food and more… for children and adults of all ages, and experience the 23rd Earth Day Celebration in Osprey FL

Date: April 22, 2012 Sunday

Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm

Admission: Free (normal day fees schedule)

Location: Oscar Scherer State Park 1843 S Tamiami Trail, Osprey FL 34229 (Map it)

There are many fun activities throughout the Earth Day Celebration including puppet show, storytelling, kayak and fishing demo, guided walking or tram ride tours to see wild life – protected species like scrub jay and bald eagle.

Kwee -- That paddling trail seems very interesting. How long is it? Is it for kayaks, canoes,....? Have you ever navigated it yourself?

Barbara, the paddling trail is for kayaks and canoes about half mile in the park, may be about 5 miles through Blackburn Bay to Gulf of Mexico. My husband and I have been navigated around Dona Bay and Myakka River not in Oscar Scherer State Park.
