On Saturday, April 28th, 2012, from 1:30 to 4pm, you can enjoy the YMCA Healthy Kids Day for free! The North Suburban YMCA is located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook.
This year's theme is "Take on Summer!" The day's emphasis will be on enjoying the upcoming summer with exercise, nutrition, and all-around healthy lifestyle choices for you and your family. Approximately 500 people attended this annual event in 2011.
You and your family will be able to enjoy family games, relay races, fitness experiences, and even get to try out the aquatic obstacle course in the Y's pool.
For individuals with special needs, the pool will be open for an hour exclusively for them and their families from 12:30 to 1:30pm.
Local businesses and community organizations will be on hand at the YMCA Healthy Kids Day to offer snacks and other giveaways, along with information about themselves.
By attending the YMCA Healthy Kids Day, you'll be able to get a first-hand look at all the new renovations that are currently under way at the Y. Attendees will also be able to learn about the Y's programs and summer camps that will be offered this year.
