It's Only Your Reputation

If you've done any searching on Google lately, you've probably seen something that looks like this...

Google Places

Google Places has become quite popular in Google search, specifically when you're looking for local businesses, and as you can see in the image, reviews stand out! As an individual Real Estate agent, you may not have to worry as much about what people are saying in online reviews, but what about the office you work for? All it takes these days is for one unhappy person to go find you or your office online and write a bad review and BAM!...reputation tainted!

I'll try and get into more on this another time, but I wanted to bring this up as a possible issue to be aware of and know about. With new technology comes new benefits and challenges that we all need to be aware of today!

Thanks, Nic for the heads up on the google places reviews.  Never really thought about how reviews about the office would impact our personal google places.

This is where Reputation Management comes into play.

Many businesses think they are at the mercy of the public in this are but that really isn't true. We have tools and tecniques that can be employed to improve your online reputation (which does influence Google Places rankings.)

...And I am talking white hat, not black hat.

Thanks for the post, Nic! Yet another thing for agents to stay on top of. :-)
