Last weekend I took my granddaughter on a little drive up to California's Mother Lode area (Auburn, Coloma, Placerville).  I was amazed at the number of community groups and volunteers, who had come out to clean up highways and waterways.  We had just experienced rains in the preceding days, and the landscape looked so fresh and pristine.

I should also mention tht WM (Waste Management), once had its headquarters in the Greater Sacramento Region.  They recently moved to Texas.  I'm fascinated to know they actually have operations in Florida as well.
