Memorable Monday: Bob Stewart & Cousin Eddie ... This One's For You!

By

While enjoying Earth Day 2012 festivities in Dallas this past weekend, I saw and photographed several images that, in one way or another, reminded me of ActiveRain.  And, after reading Bob Stewart's post last week, I immediately thought about Bob and his cousin Eddie when I stumbled upon these two guys -- deeply engaged in a 'giant' game of chess.

Now, that's what I call a Chess Set!

Good morning Carie -

These are so cool.  Debbie and I actually enjoyed a huge set like this hand made of wood in Playa del Carmen, Mexico a few back.  It was an eye catcher for sure :)

Hope you have a rocking week in real estate and enjoy all you do!

John

Hi Carie. That's the biggest chess board I have ever seen.

When my cousin Eddie and I were playing chess, I was between 6 and 8 years old. Those chess pieces would have killed me moving them around, haha. I'm sure Eddie would have had a great time instructing me which pieces to move......and for some reason I'm pretty sure each move would have been tested and retested 3 or 4 time until I could hardly pick up the pieces.

I can't recall where exactly, but I've seen a few of these size boards around in my life. I am vaguely remembering somewhere in Vancouver BC that they have a few big sets like this.......but I could be wrong. Great photo!

That is a great chess set, Carie - and Bob is right, we do have at least one of these big outdoor chess games set up in Whistler (just outside of Vancouver).

Carie, That is a huge chess set!  A person could get a hernia playing with this set!

Bob:  I can just envision you at 6 or 8 trying to play chess with these humongous pieces :)  Just wanted to share the photo ... everything seems to remind me of ActiveRain these days.  Is that normal? :)

Karen:  Wow ... you knew exactly the chess set Bob was talking about.  Cool ... I need to go to Vancouver some day!

Connie:  I know ... these guys had an audience!

Tony:  LOL ... that is true!

Carie, that is quite the chess set. As Bob suggested above, I'm not sure I could even move them. Too funny.
