Grand Rapids Michigan First Quarter 2012 East Suburban Real Estate Market Reports

Daffodils in West Michigan

The following suburban market reports cover the first quarter real estate

activity in each Grand Rapids area.  Some local areas are holding their value

better than others.  All areas are still seeing some price erosion, though a

much smaller percentage than previously.

If you are considering selling your home, we recommend listing as soon as

possible.  The nation's largest banks still have foreclosure inventory

that has not hit the marketplace.  These estimated 4 million homes will be

put on the market sometime in 2012.

We would be happy to give you an idea of what your home is worth today.

Great reports, inventory levels seem to be a common factor for most of the nation.  Here in Ventura County we have low inventories as well.  My brother lived in Grand Rapids years ago and in Kalamazoo, I really liked Grand Rapids.

I've been watching these numbers for a couple of years, and it's been interesting to see the transition in this market.  It seems that areas with stronger school systems are bouncing back faster?

A shout out from GR Kathy, you should come back for a visit!

Definitely true, Eleanor.  The inventory is way down in good school systems and the best homes aren't lasting long on the market.
