Almost every Realtor that I bump into, complains about having a hard time selling a brand new home. That is true, with the new shift in the market brand new Vancouver homes are hard to sell, or actually westside Vancouver I should say.
I have been working with many buyers in the past few years, mostly Chinese, and I have come to realize that the developers are not meeting the consumer's expectations.
The market for the Vancouver homes had been really good for quiet a few years, and because of that many developers who were benefiting from that booming new house market, got a little spoiled.
What happened next? they started putting less and less. Using the cheapest material possible, asking their wives and family members, who had no taste, to do the interior design, which often demonstrated disastrous results, and using the same faulty floor plan over and over to save on drawing costs, caused the Vancouver homes market to start reshaping itself and shifting towards a new direction.
So, this is probably why all those wealthy newcommers want to build their own dream home, and as we move forward they become more and more aducated and soon enough there will be no room for those developers who do not do a good job.
