Karen Anne: Liberace was an interesting guy. I have included a few more pictures of Liberace's stuff that are in Lonny Hammargren's house. If you haven't read the post that I did on Lonnie make sure you take a look at it. http://activerain.com/blogsview/247057/Beyond-the-Neon-Part
The staircase was used by Liberace in his show at the Riviera. Lonnie had it built into his house after he acquired it. The upright piano was his traveling piano and the fur coat also belongs to him. In the second picture, there is a photo (to the right of the chair) of Liberace coming down the staircase during his show.
Tom: It is interesting to see. Check out the other pictures above also.
Elizabeth: You will just have to make a trip to Vegas to enjoy the food!
My wife and I joke about going to the museum, every time we passed it when we are in Vegas. For 5 years straight we never did go and now we haven't been back in 8 years and promised ourselves next time we do go, we will really actually stop there, instead of just joking about it.
Lisa: It is a great place to visit.
Todd: Next time, make sure you stop. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Sounds like you are overdue for a Vegas visit.
The photos are really very interesting. It must be lovely to visit Liberace's place. What I would like to know is what year did Liberace sue some guy because this guy called him gay. Liberace won this case. I know his partner took him to court too, this case is a different one. Please can anyone help. allison
Allison: Sure, you couldn't ask an easy one, like where is Liberace's former Las Vegas home located. That one I know. :)
I had to defer to my resident Vegas history buff. The only thing he can recall hearing about is a UK's Daily Mail writer that went by 'Cassandra', or something like that. He believes the fellow's actual name was Conner, and it was mid to late 1950's, around the time of a European tour. About that same time he sued a Hollywood tabloid (Named Confidentail ?), also for written accusations. Besides the Palimony suit filed by former live-in Thorson, Liberace was also sued by Joanne Rio, to whom he once announced an engagement, but never married. He believes that suit was brought after one of Liberace's Bios came out that claimed they had been intimate.
That was all my history buff could come up with off the top of his head. Hope that helps!
