Daytona won another victory. So sad...

I read today's newspaper. The concerned residents again forced the developer to downsize. Another victory. The developer was forced to go from 30 stories, then 22, then 20, now 16. Now developer is saying it is not really making big business sense.

And it is very said.

We are hostages of redneck mentality. We are hijacked. Being against is so easy. I am not surprised that people with that mentality would be fighting for preserving "the beauty". They gotta be day dreaming. The real beauty here is created by G-d, and it is, unfortunately, not complemented by what people have created.

If everything would be the way these "concerned residents" want, we would be leaving in caves. These people have their eyes in the wrong place and better keep their pants high. Do you know that there is such thing as being beauty blind? Their only driving force is fight against those who want to put the money to make it beautiful. These are the destroyers. They are not creators.

Heck with them. Opposing to moving forward is not surprising. What is surprising, is that the elected officials are not leaders, they are following the heard. No vision, no desire to do something that would be worth preserving. Such a shame.

Somebody is understanding democracy very wrong.

Another Daytona victory, another loss for its future.

So sad...

Some pretty strong opinions there Jon.  You sure you want your potential customers reading that?

That's exactly what I want. To start showing things the way they are. If everyone is content, there is no reason to change.

I understand that there are other opinions, and I understand that I am in a minority. Not the way I think, but simply because the "concerned" are organized, and we are working, working, so we are not.

This all will change rather soon. No siege can be forever, but changing is very costly. It would be much better to have a better business climate here.

My friend has an African Grey, the bird knows a few words and keeps repeating them over and over.

That's what we hear all the time "No", 'No", "No".

And I am ashamed of our "leaders". Leading us back to yesterday.

It is sad...

From a development perspective, I can't imagine how he could make it pencil out with barely 50% of the original units.  They may have just succeeded in killing the entire project.

There are so many angles here, and they get it all wrong all the time. Common thread is that we came to Florida to see the ocean, and not the condo jungles. In flat Florida you do not see the ocean from anywhere, unless you are either right on the beach, or in this condo. In that sense a one-story building blocks the view as well as 100-story building. SO, in that sense why is 16-story hotel in a key location, which is one of the lowest in the area is better than a 30-story.

The developers might be having difficult time having this business succeed, so are we building a future problem right now? Yes, we are.

I can go on and on and on. The main thing is that there is nothing anywhere about the beaty. They do not legislate the beauty. They legislate the mediocrity.

Thank you
