According to MarineCorps Air Ground Combat Center commanding general Brig. Gen Melvin G. Spiese, over 1700 Marines will be added to the base. Although the base's population fluctuates daily, currently there are about 12,000 Marines and Sailors attached to the base. This is good news for the housing market in this area!
A friend of mine, a Navy Chaplin on the base, gave me some interesting statistics, and although unrelated to the topic of this blog, I find it very interesting. The Navy has more aricraft than the Air Force. And the Army uses more ships than the Navy. I'll have to look these figures up sometime.
