I have asked my ministerial husband, Dr. John, to write a series on the 12 Days of Christmas in accordance with the Spiritual meaning of this famous song. He has agreed, and sought and received permission from Dennis Bratcher, Executive Director of the CRI/Voice Institute, to excerpt and quote portions of the Institute's excellent analysis of The Twelve Days of Christmas. I know you'll enjoy this series!
There were 11 Faithful Apostles: 1) Simon Peter, 2) Andrew, 3) James, 4) John, 5) Philip, 6) Bartholomew, 7) Matthew, 8) Thomas, 9) James bar Alphaeus, 10) Simon the Zealot, 11) Judas bar James. (Luke 6:14-16).
Obviously, the list does not include the twelfth disciple, Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus to the religious leaders and the Romans, nor as noted, Paul whose conversion on the road to Damascus was a monumental example of God's transformation of the worst of the lot to the most prolific.
Who are the apostles or disciples in your life as a Realtor?
Who is faithful to your walk with the Lord in making sure the work they do for you is as you would do it for others?
Who can you trust with your life, your secrets, your responsibilities?
Who can you trust to represent you when speaking to others, and who can you trust to treat your clients as you would treat them in accordance with your Christian ethic?
Who do you know will be faithful no matter what (assuming there are no violations of law), and who do you "know" would turn if there was a better deal to be had?
I doubt that Jesus had any of these questions, but at opportune times He had many words for His disciples. Even as Jesus spoke of His death to come and the rejection He was going to get from the religious leaders, he called the people unto Him with His disciples also, and said unto them, "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." (Mark 8:34)
How loyal is your help, your partners, or your colleagues to your service to God and to real estate. They can - and do - go hand in hand! As does Christianity and Real Estate go hand in hand with service to God!
God bless you, and Happy New Year!
