Welcome to Timber Hills in Monroe, New York.
I am happy to report that at the time of the writing of this article, and at least until July 23, 2013, Timber Hills is an FHA approved complex, so that qualified buyers can buy a condo or townhouse in this development with a small downpayment of about 3.5 %.
This community was started in about 1990 and completed in about 1995. It consists of one level condominiums, two level duplexes, and three level townhouses.
The units have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths or 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. and are between about 1228 square feet and about 1500 square feet. They have basements. Some basements have been finished and some are waiting for your finishing touches!
The units have 2 parking spaces.
The tri-levels have the following layout:
The first floor has a living room, dining room, kitchen and a half bath.
The second floor has a master bedroom suite with a master bath, and another bedroom and full bath.
All the basements have laundry rooms. The ones that are finished, typically have a family room and a laundry room.
In addition to tri-level units, the complex has lovely one level condominiums, with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a laundry room on either the upper level or the lower level.
The development also has two level units, with a living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths on one level, and a laundry room on the lower level. This lower level may have a family room, if that level has been finished.
Some units have fireplaces to enjoy on those cold winter days and nights.
Enjoy sitting on your deck or patio and relaxing. Listen to the birds sing and delight in great mountain and wooded views!
The amenities include a swimming pool and a clubhouse with a kitchen, a playground, tennis courts and basketball courts.
As I drove through this community, taking these pictures, I felt a sense of tranquility.
I enjoyed seeing the lush landscaping and viewing the woods and mountains from the various vantage points.
Timber Hills is convenient for commuters going into New York City. There are buses close by to take you into the Port Authority of New York at 41st Street and 8th Avenue. There is also a railroad train station in Harriman which is closeby, and the train takes commuters into either Secaucus or Hoboken, NJ. From there, you can take the Port Authority Trans Hudson (PATH) trains to lower Manhattan or 34th Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan. The commute into New York by public transportation is about 1 and 1/2 hours.
This community is also close to major highways, such as the NYS thruway (I-87), Route 17 and Route 17M.
For shoppers, it is very close to the wonderful Woodbury Commons Premier Outlet shopping mall and many other stores, including Walmart, TJMax, BJs, Target, and more!
As a pet lover I am happy to say that pets are allowed!
Between January 1, 2011 and the time of the writing of this article, five units have sold in this community, ranging in sale price from $189,500 to $220,000.
At the time of the writing of this article, eight units are on the market listed at between $189,900 and $229,900.
