As the 7th largest municipality in New Jersey, Toms River prides itself on its 242-year old history that has laid the foundation for our township to become the seat of Ocean County, which is the second largest county in New Jersey.
Toms River is exit 82 A/B off the Garden State Parkway leads visitors to our main commercial corridor, Rt. 37, which rides directly into Seaside Heights Borough.
Toms River is not only a wonderful place to live but also an attractive place to visit, with miles of Atlantic Ocean on Toms Rivers Ortley and Normandy Beaches. Aside from oceanfront fun, Toms Rivers Silverton section and Toms River itself spill into the Barnegat Bay, making our township a fine boating and fishing haven with marinas and inlets to satisfy the avid fisherman and boater.
Other communities in the area are Silver Ridge Estates, Somerset Meadows, Grande Woodlands and Island Heights which is not actually part of Toms River, but very close by.
