Parent Alert! Are you a stay at home mom or dad in the Columbia area? PATH is coming to you starting this month! 
PATH or Parents at Home of Catonsville is a local group of stay at home parents with a common goal – to connect with other parents who are home raising their kids! I speak from personal experience – my son and I joined PATH when he just started to walk! Another cool thing about PATH is that my au pair was also able to take my son to events so he could socialize with other kids! It was a great way to meet other parents in the area and we interacted with so many other families! To this day we run into kids and parents whom we met through PATH.
PATH meant so much to me and my family that I often recommend it to parents when I sell a home in Catonsville. I love to be a tour guide to those new families and introduce them to everything our area has to offer!!
The group decided it was time to share their group with parents at home with kids in Columbia and Ellicott City. An open house on April 20th at the East Columbia Library with crafts, snacks and a happy clown proved to be a huge success!
More than 20 families attended to socialize and find out more about joining PATH. “I wish I had known about this group 4 years ago!” said Jennifer from Columbia who was there with her 4 year old girl and 10 month old boy. Other mom’s sat with their kids watching the clown, bouncing babies and chatting by their strollers.
PATH also stands out among parent groups because they actively recruit stay at home dads or even grandparents caregivers to join as well as moms! Another benefit which members love is the list serve which lets them connect with more than 50 other local families. Topics range from how to get your kids to give up their pacifier to finding a good plumber!
Increased membership adds to the richness and diversity of experiences to a local community support group like PATH. Catonsville members often go to activities and outings in Columbia and Ellicott City which are both a short distance away so including members in those areas makes perfect sense!
