Citywide Earth Day Cleanup for Waterbury CT

The City of Waterbury is holding a Citywide Earth Day Cleanup on Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon.

The event is sponsored by The Mayor’s office, the Waterbury Litter Control and Beautification Commissions, the Police Blight Team , the Waterbury Public Works Department and CL&P.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Sear’s Automotive Parking Lot near the Brass Center Mall on Union Street.

There, they will be given

  • Bags and glove
  • Bottles of Water
  • Ticket for a Hot Dog Lunch at Frankie’s on Watertown Ave

Most residents of Waterbury take good care of their own property, now they are being asked to give a couple hours of their time to help the City Clean itself up as well.

Ed, I love spring clean ups - it's a great chance to get out, meet the neighbors, do some good and get some exercise.  And, a free lunch after - what a bonus.

Joan, there certainly is a fair amount of cleanup that can be done, every little bit helps.

Wanda, the new mayor is really trying to get people to focus and appreciate their town.

Hi A & P, the lunch is one of the finer stands in town for dogs. a good move on their part

Hannah, a touch of work is required, but it''s a fair exchange

William, indeed it is, Hopefully someone other than homeowners will get involved.

Juli, this is a win, win and then a win with a free lunch to boot.

Craig, the town is really trying to get things going every way they can

John, it is a very worth effort and can be rewarding as well with the lunch
