Earth Day Tip

Earth Day Dallas 2012 was chock full of great stuff!  The annual, outdoor festival had informative exhibits, great food and drink made with sustainably grown ingredients using eco-friendly sources, and overall -- numerous activities to help raise and increase environmental awareness.

Oh ... and one more thing.  I also found out that being conscientious and kind to our environment can provide additional benefits when you're selling a home too!

Good morning Carie -

The sign says it all.  We have a Pinion Tree in our front yard (much desired tree in our area) it's been very healthy and the talk of the neighborhood for years now.  We noticed last year it was looking tired, this year worse.  We had a Tree Doctor come out this week and look at it. Yep it's sick.  So now we've got an entire tree squad that will be working on it for the next year to save it and in fact care for all our landscape. Money upfront but as a Realtor® I know the value of curb appeal and want healthy, happy landscape.  You sign rings very true my friend.

Have a great weekend.... I'm on the fly here!

John

How about just a tree, as long as the roots are not coming up through the foundation, like my last showing.

Carie, properties with healthy trees sell faster as well as add value to it. Enjoy your festival.

Gary:  That sounds so nice just the way your described it :)

John:  I'm so sorry to hear about your ailing Pinion Tree.  It sounds like your Tree Doctor and entire tree squad are dedicated to getting your beautiful and majestic tree back to health!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend too, my friend!

Winston:  Uh oh ... that's not good!

Kwee:  Yes, healthy trees add value too ... thanks for mentioning that :)

Carie~~ we have tons of trees here and one thing that people hate is when a subdivision comes in and takes down the big beautiful trees.. It is unfortunate, but we always try to pick out as many as possible to stay. If they have to come down then the builders have been required to plant after the build now. It helps, but can't magically grow a 25 year old ( or longer) tree in the yard.

Carie - I LOVE that sign!  What a clever idea - and thank you so much for sharing it with us.  I hope Earth Day was fantastic in Dallas - you're doing a great job of 'sprinkling the green fairy dust' (a stolen quote from Cathy Bureau!) :-)

An honorary green fairy to you!

Janis:  I don't like it either when the builders come in and take down the beautiful, old trees.  And, as you said, "planting trees" after the build just isn't the same at all.  I suddenly feel the need to go out and hug an old tree now :)

Karen:  Wow, I am truly honored!  Yes, it would be great to sprinkle the green fairy dust more often, not just on Earth Day.  Thanks for the honorary green fairy designation ... I love it!
