How to Optimize your LinkedIn Profile Page
Fix the Links to YOUR Websites
Last month I asked the question....
“Do You Know How to Optimize Your URL on LinkedIn?" Easy, and many of us got it done! While I was cleaning up my own URL and working on my profile page, I found a few other tips I was missing on some simple details. I knew that if I was that many others would be too. I thought i would share in the potential Google Juice.
Since Google, even with all of its constant changes, still likes LinkedIn, it is a good idea to make sure that we are doing as many things possible the right way. If you are on LinkedIn, that means you should have a proper profile page. Just signing up and not doing anything can be worse than never creating a page.
What I found was that being generic is not helpful either. To help solve that I learned... How to Optimize those links to your Website & Blogs on your LinkedIn Profile Page.
Again super easy and fast and tells Google that you are a real person and not yet another fake identity out to annoy the public.
The process is quite easy.
1. Go to your “Public Profile Page” on your LinkedIn Page
2. Scroll down to “ Add Websites” and click the edit button. Initially, they will come up as generic links to "My Blog" and "My Company"
3. Always Click “Other” and Customize the links to your website and blogs on your profile page by using Your Key Words - Anchor Text and then the actual url
4. Don’t forget to click save, and you will see the titles of your websites which gives you some additional SEO and Google Juice
Super easy... and ..
