Daytona Inn Beach Resort
Daytona Inn is a condo-hotel located in the very heart of Daytona’s Beachside, it is right at the intersection of International Speedway Blvd with Atlantic Ave.
This 157-room resort was built in 1962, and, if I am not mistaken, is the oldest condo-hotel on the beach. A U-shaped resort’s central wing is direct oceanfront with nice balconies, oceanfront pool and deck. The two other wings have from no view of the ocean to decent ocean view on the south side of the resort. South wing has a very narrow (French) balcony.
Majority of units are studios, but they also have one-bedroom units. Outside corridor system, elevator, this is not your Ritz Carlton, but if you are ready for the beach and sun, you can find it OK. It is on the part of the beach, which is non-driving, so this could be a good place for families with small children.
This is really a place where you do not need a car to get to Main Street, Boardwalk, Ocean Walk Village, all those bar, restaurants and night clubs in the area. Bikers love it, as driving form the bar is a risky business.
They allow small pets for the owners, but not for the guests. I have to note that their Front Desk people are always very nice and professional.
Currently there are 19 units for sale showing on MLS starting from $29K however, when I called the agent yesterday asking for the showing instructions, she said it was already bilateral. The next lowest priced unit is $33K. Same story, I called, and was told that it was going under contract. As I said, market is heating up.
There were 5 units sold in 2011. And in 2012 there were already 5 units sold since January according to Daytona MLS. Several units were sold for less than $30K. Prices are already higher now. And 3 units are currently under contract.
