Ever wonder where Buyers find the home that they buy? According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) here is the latest information from their survey of Buyers. It is not surprising to find that Buyers are really using the Internet to search for their new home. 40 % said that they found their home while searching the Internet. People are shopping on their computers while in a comfortable environment or after hours.
The next biggest percentage came from people using Real Estate Agents, 35% and that is huge, as a Real Estate Agent people come to us as a trusted professional. People that are looking for a new home will give us, the Realtor, a set of parameters to search for, but rarely do they make a decision on their list, but rather a combination from the list and a lot of emotion. So, a good Realtor will watch for signs from both husband and wife and help them both get what they want in a new home.
Do not under-estimate the power of a yard sign when selling your home as 11% of the Buyers found their new home just by driving around and seeing what was for sale in the neighborhoods that they liked.
Take a look at the graph again and you will notice that print media is way down there, so it is obvious that the Internet is the new leader for where Buyers find their new home.
