Stagers Are Expected to Have A Solution for Everything - Part Two

By
Home Stager with Synergy Staging ~ specializing in vacant home staging

The first installment of this blog focused on the upper level of this beautiful mid-century modern home in Portland which presented some staging challenges. We now turn to the master bedroom and bathroom downstairs.

Although the sellers had the kitchen painted in the upper level, we had to work with the bright green and yellow colors in the lower level. It was our goal to warm them up and make the spaces feel inviting and cozy.

*** Make sure to read the footnote at the bottom of the blog ***

Master Bedroom before Home Staging

By bringing in a darker color palatte the color of the walls are toned down. We also wanted to be able to use the space in between the wall heaters, so we had to find a piece that was just the perfect width to accommodate the gap. It's always important to select just the right pieces that have the appropriate scale and style to highlight a room.

*** AN INTERESTING FOOTNOTE:

The home had numerous showings right after it was staged, but the remianing two bedrooms on the lower level were not staged, had bright wall colors, and one had flourescent lighting in the ceiling, like an office building. Since those were the last two rooms that everyone saw when viewing the house, no one made an offer.

We worked with the sellers to update these rooms with paint and remove the lighting fixtures. We also returned to stage both bedrooms. At the next showing the home received 3 offers!!!

Staging absolutely works!

Absolutely stunning transformation! I like the green... the yellow's a bit much for me, though. All the browns you incorporated contrast so nicely with the greens and they did, in fact, warm the room nicely. I'm sure the improvement will help sell this home quickly. Well done. Now I'm off to read the first installment of this blog.

Absolutely, staging works.  That yellow bathroom is a bit intense, but you worked some magic.

David - You so mellowed the yellow!  Very interesting footnote.  Glad the homeowners were wise and brought you back to tackle the final two rooms.

Gretchen ~ Thank you! It did sell quickly once we addressed the final two bedrooms.

Roger ~ The yellow was bright and would have been an issue had the home not been staged.

Julia ~ Wasn't that great. We knew there were two other rooms that had to be helped, and it was amazing that as soon as they were transformed the offers came in!

Sally ~ We were glad too. Making a home move-in ready and helping potential buyers see how they can use a space makes all the difference.

Margaret ~ Thanks for stopping by! It's fun to be the trigger that helps the sellers!

Who knew that the room was even a bedroom? It's amazing just how big a difference your staging brought to the table. I'm not the least bit surprised that it had 3 offers!

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Kathy ~ Thanks for the feature. As you know, one of the best reasons to stage, define a room in the best possible way!

Profit from my two decades of experience

Well worth the cost of staging. What a difference, I love 50 style homes but they do have their challenges.

Adrian ~ The owners agreed that the cost was well worth it. We love 50's style homes as well, but they certainly do have issues that must be addressed. Thanks for your comments.

Hi David, staging absolutely does work! I can't for the life of me imagine why the home owners didn't let you finish in the first place when they came home and seen what dramatic changes you had made. Fabulous work as always. And the results speak for themselves.
