Children and grandchildren alike will enjoy celebrating National Park Trust Kids to Parks Day at Lake Anna State Park. Be sure to attend the short annual meeting and take part in the activities after. This is a great way to make new friends or see some familiar faces. Getting involved with your local community is one of the most satisfying things you can do.

ANNUAL MEETING

Hi to all,
The Friends of Lake Anna State Park (FOLASP) annual business meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 19 in the Park Visitor Center. The meeting will be short, probably 30 minutes or less.
We chose May 19 because that is also the date of the National Park Trust Kids to Parks Day, a national event. You can check it out at http://www.kidstoparks.org.
The Kids to Parks activities at Lake Anna State Park on May 19 will begin at 9:00 a.m. and run through 4:00 p.m. Activities will include family geocaching; enviroscape (a 3-D presentation); a walk with a master naturalist; panning for gold; a unique look at fish, frogs, and other lake creatures; and park orienteering.
FOLASP will be hosting a table for the kids featuring snacks and gifts beginning immediately after our business meeting adjourns and continuing until 4:00 p.m. or until we run out of snacks and gifts,whichever comes first. Tell the person in the contact station that you are a member of FOLASP and the entrance fee will be waived for you.
