In the heart of Jamestown, TN just off Old Hwy 127 is a refreshing little park known as the Mark Twain Park. The sand stone spring in the park was the primary source of water for the Clemons family. Their home stood where the post office now stands. John Clemons was the father of Samuel Clemons aka Mark Twain. Although Mark Twain was not born here his family made many contributions to our history. The park has a Historical Marker and is presently owned by the Jamestown Garden Club. If you are ever in the area take the time to take a stroll in the park and walk where the Clemons family walked.
